Exam Preparation Previous Year Papers

Where to get real, official JEE question papers.

Practicing genuine past papers — not recreated or "memory-based" versions — is one of the most effective ways to prepare. Here's exactly where the official papers live, and how to actually get to them.

Honest scope: We link directly to the official government sources rather than hosting copies ourselves — this way you always get the genuine, currently-published papers, not a stale mirror. This page covers JEE Main and JEE Advanced only; see below for why TNEA, DASA, and CSAB Special don't have an equivalent.

JEE Main Official: NTA

Released by the National Testing Agency after each session, shift-wise.

  1. Go to the official NTA website at nta.ac.in
  2. Look for the "Downloads" section on the homepage
  3. Select the exam (JEE Main), the year, and the specific paper you want
  4. Click search — the official PDF download link will appear
Go to nta.ac.in

JEE Advanced Official: IIT (rotating host)

A different exam from JEE Main, conducted by whichever IIT is hosting that year (it rotates annually). The official archive goes back to 2007.

  1. Go to jeeadv.ac.in — the official JEE Advanced site for the current year
  2. Look for the "Archives" or "Past Papers" section
  3. Select the year you want — papers are typically available as Paper 1 and Paper 2, each with an answer key
Go to jeeadv.ac.in

Why TNEA, DASA, and CSAB Special aren't here

These three don't have their own "previous year question papers" the way JEE does:

  • TNEA has no separate entrance test at all — your cutoff comes directly from your Class 12 board exam marks (Maths + Physics÷2 + Chemistry÷2), not a written exam Anna University conducts itself.
  • DASA and CSAB Special both use your existing JEE Main score for eligibility — there's no separate exam, so JEE Main's own past papers (above) are the relevant practice material for these too.

Using past papers well

Simulate real conditions

Time yourself exactly as the real exam — 3 hours, no pausing, no looking up answers mid-paper. The pressure is part of what you're practicing for.

Review every mistake, not just the score

A wrong answer from a careless slip needs different fixing than one from a genuine gap in understanding. Separate the two honestly.

Track which topics keep tripping you up

Solving 5+ years of papers reveals patterns — certain chapters show up almost every year. Notice what recurs for you specifically.

Match against the official answer key

Always cross-check with NTA's or the IIT's own released answer key, not a third-party "unofficial" one, especially right after the exam when disputes can shift final answers.
